There’s a mystical quality to this painting so evident that everyone sees it. From the most educated art critic in New York to a farmer’s son in the Midwest, Starry Night captures a feeling that we’ve all had about the night sky. A feeling that propels me through life everyday. This beautiful piece is common ground for the human experience. It’s one of those objects that defines art itself. Just posting it here feels like a cheap shot or a cover band playing Lee Greenwood’s Proud to Be An American; it’s too obvious and seeing the image induces a response in just about everyone.
